This series is an opportunity for you to get to know the faces behind Spiff– the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make our product and our company what it is today. At Spiff, we believe in the power of relationships, and we place a strong emphasis on treating people with respect and building lasting connections.
That’s why we’re thrilled to share this latest batch of Spiffers with you. So, without further ado, let’s jump in and get to know some of the incredible people who make up the Spiff team!
Tomas Carchio, Solutions Engineer
Tomas is 28 years old and has lived his entire life in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He enjoys spending time with his friends and playing a wide variety of sports. Throughout his professional life, Tomas has worked in various roles, but he finds the most enjoyment in those that involve leading and coordinating teams and projects.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I enjoy the balance between interacting with people and working with data.
Samuel Troychak, Technical Client Success Manager
Samuel grew up south of Portland, Oregon and moved to Bozeman, Montana to pursue a degree in Finance at Montana State University. He was also drawn to the area’s outdoor paradise. After graduating, Samuel’s interest in building models and solving complex problems led him to start his career in software finance and sales operations.
He has been following this career path for almost five years, taking him back to Oregon and now Colorado where he resides with his fiancé and three dogs. When he’s not working, Samuel likes to explore Colorado by mountain biking, fly-fishing, and playing golf, enjoying as much time outdoors as possible.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I am excited to use my technical experience to help deliver a positive and insightful experience to customers.
Sherill Samuel, Technical Customer Success Manager
Sherill was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. However, she spent 7 years traveling throughout Asia in her 20s and has visited more than 20 countries. She loves to travel, likes to experience new adventures, and is a huge foodie.
Professionally, Sherill has a passion for tech and helping people. With a background as a software engineer and a career in customer success, she is excited for her future at Spiff as a Technical Customer Success Manager.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I am excited to work with such a diverse, talented, and passionate group of people. I love that I am able to directly make an impact by helping build an incredible product while also helping our customers…talk about goals!
Martin Morgan, Solutions Engineer
Martin was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He likes to spend time with friends and family and enjoys practicing all sorts of sports. As an actuary, he started working at more traditional companies but moved on to the ever changing world of modern, FinTech companies.
Martin believes that data-driven solutions are key to making accurate business decisions. He enjoys dynamic work environments where new challenges are presented on a daily basis. Through teamwork, good communication, and positive attitude, Martin believes that there is no challenge that can’t be faced.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I love facing new challenges and enhancing my professional skills while contributing to the growth of such a promising company.
Cheryl McLaws, Solutions Engineer
Cheryl is a native of Arizona, but spent time growing up in Oregon and Utah. Although she often misses the rain and green trees of the Pacific Northwest, the beautiful deserts of Arizona are home and where her heart is. She is the oldest of five and enjoys being an aunt to 14 nieces & nephews. Cheryl loves to travel, spend time with her family, and go to Disneyland.
Professionally her experience the last eight years has been in the medical field as an Office Manager and Revenue Cycle Manager helping to fight for patient benefits and hold insurance carriers accountable. She is excited to join Spiff to bring her experience and perspective to the table and learn from industry leaders!
What excites you most about your role at Spiff
I love being able to bring my years of experience and perspective to the table and that I get to learn from industry leaders in a new field.
Shaila Gray, Customer Support Technician
Shaila has spent most of her career working in Customer Support. She is passionate about assisting others and resolving issues. As a military child, Shaila has lived in many places, but she has resided in Georgia for the past 14 years. She is married and has two beautiful daughters. Shaila enjoys spending time with her family and also loves cooking and traveling. She has been fortunate enough to visit 12 different countries and counting.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
It’s exciting to learn something new and have a role that is going to challenge me.
Christopher Belden, Solutions Engineer
Chris grew up in the town of Forest– outside of Lynchburg, VA. Chris originally pursued a degree in Psychology and Film Studies after which he received his Masters degree in Business. He first entered the world of technology and software when he accepted a position at a small software company in 2017.
Chris found that working with clients to diagnose issues and resolve problems to be an exciting new challenge. He knew that aspect of his career would be something he continued to pursue in the future. Currently residing in Richmond, VA he enjoys spending time with friends, soaking in as much live music as possible, and taking advantage of outdoor activities around the city, throughout Virginia, and beyond.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I love getting to work in a hands-on role at a fast growing software company.
Rodrigo Imposti, Solutions Engineer
Prior to Spiff, Rodrigo worked for more than ten years in the Mystery Shopping industry, where he learned the ins and outs of great customer service and designed programs to measure and improve it. As his client portfolio grew, automation went from a hobby to a necessity, leading him to take courses in Python, JS, SQL and others. He thrived working on these technical assignments, so Rodrigo decided to pursue a career in tech and was fortunate to come across a Solutions Engineer opening at Spiff in his hometown of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He loves cooking, gardening and using Arduinos to over engineer solutions for repetitive tasks. Rodrigo believes one can learn anything by watching Youtube tutorials. His partner, whose plants died after a non-Arduino-related overwatering mishap, disagrees.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I love that Spiff has the growth and culture of a startup but the product and market fit of an industry veteran.
Cassidy Snopek, Sales Development Representative
Cassidy was born and raised in Chicopee, Massachusetts. She believes coachability and teamwork is important which is why she has a love for coaching high school basketball and lacrosse. Cassidy has a passion for innovative technology, business, and working with people which makes her excited to tie all of these elements together into a career at Spiff. In her spare time she is usually off exploring with her dogs Champ and Ranger, watching the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Lightning, or golfing with her friends.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I’m excited to have the opportunity to constantly learn and grow while kick starting my career in sales.
Tommy Dugger, Senior Software Engineer
Tommy has worked in software development for more than ten years. He loves writing code that helps people do their jobs, mentoring others, and learning from challenging problems and amazing coworkers.
He lives in Star Valley Wyoming. An area of the United states known for its natural beauty and abundant wildlife– something that aligns well with his love of landscape and wildlife photography. You can check out his work on Instagram at @duggerphotography. In his free time, Tommy also enjoys art, playing the guitar, and writing.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
The people! It’s exciting to work with amazing people that push me as an engineer and as a leader. All my interactions with Spiff employees have been incredible. The people are humble, kind, and exceptionally smart.
Laura Avila, Sales Development Representative
Laura was born in Colombia but grew up in sunny Tampa, Florida. Throughout her teen years she was involved in the management of her parents’ company– helping them with an array of administrative tasks and learning many unique skills along the way.
Soon after, she started an online store with her brothers. And later, on a whim, she decided to fly out to Indiana to take a door-to-door job selling pest control for an entire summer. It was during that role where Laura fell in love with sales.
Laura loves to push boundaries and get out of her comfort zone. She’s been skydiving, paragliding, bungee jumping, and one day hopes to become a certified skydiver. Outside of work she spends her spare time rock climbing, doing yoga, reading, watching movies and anime, and longboarding.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I’m excited to get out of my comfort zone and level up as a human being!
Andrea Elsesser, Senior Enterprise SDR
Andrea grew up outside of Atlanta, Georgia. She is passionate about helping people solve problems– a passion which led her to a career in sales! Connecting with people on a personal level and earning their trust is what excites Andrea about work everyday.
Outside of work you can find Andrea eating at the local taco joint, hiking, swimming, working out, playing golf, pickleball, or tennis. She also is a dog mom of two– Samson the Golden Retriever and Gunner the cute Shepherd mutt.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
What excites me the most about my role at Spiff is being the first point of contact for our customers to start a meaningful lasting relationship and make a great first impression.
Rob Matthews, Director of Product Marketing
Born in New York City and raised five minutes from a Dairy Farm in New Jersey, Rob has always had a passion for technology and believed that it could be a powerful tool to better people’s lives (this was probably heavily influenced by his love of Star Trek).
After grad school, Rob went to work for SaaS technology companies in order to do his tiny part in bringing about a better, tech-enabled future. These days, figuring out what a market needs and how a product can solve customers’ pain gives him immense satisfaction. In his spare time you’ll find him playing with his two dogs, watching Star Trek with his family, or in the garage tending to his increasingly broken, aging European vehicles.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
My role at Spiff gives me an opportunity to work with a great team to help bring a product to market that solves a serious pain.
Vinny Cavello, Community Manager
Vinny grew up on Long Island, NY and currently lives in Chicago. With a background in events and experiences, Vinny strives to connect with community members to curate meaningful opportunities and experiences for each of them. The main objective is to impact one individual in a positive way, and make them an ambassador of community growth. And that’s Vinny’s specialty!
Vinny has a passion for donuts and has a goal to try a donut in every city he visits. He spends his time playing volleyball, going to concerts, and enjoying the lakefront park in Chicago (when it’s not freezing).
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
The culture and voice here at Spiff is the perfect environment for us to connect with customers in a meaningful way, and truly develop a community that creates valuable partnerships.
Samantha Kirk, Customer Success Manager
Samantha started out her career in finance, but soon realized that she wanted to work in an environment that fostered more innovation and growth. Samantha took a chance and pivoted to a career in the tech space.
Samantha enjoys building out processes, working with customers, and having meaningful interactions with her team. Outside of work, she loves cooking, yoga, reading, and hanging out with her two adorable dogs.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
It’s exciting to build relationships with customers and improve processes to ensure our customers have a great experience during every interaction they have with Spiff.
