Another big month at Spiff! Here’s what’s on the menu
New default avatars
Thanks to our Head of UX, aka Albert “Michelangelo” Candari, we updated our default avatars to animals from Zoo Portraits (All Rights Reserved. 2019). The animals are all endangered species. Let us know what you think about them!
Teams can now have other teams as team members. Nested teams is a game changer, allowing companies to automate complex management structures or multi-level commission roll-ups. It’s like the movie Inception, except you’re not limited to four levels and Leo is not part of the team…unless of course one of your employees is named Leo.
Team Membership Automation
Spiff now lets you specify start dates and end dates for each member of a team, including nested teams. No more having to worry about all the ramifications team changes can have on your commission calculations. Spiff updates all your calculations automatically based on the dates you specify. For example, let’s imagine you want to move Kasey from team A to team B at the beginning of next month. Team A rolls up to Dan and team B rolls up to Stacy. With Spiff, all you have to do is set Kasey’s correct start/end dates in Team A and B, and her commissions will automatically start rolling up to Stacy at the right time. Voila!
Plan Assignment Automation
Similar to team membership automation, we added the ability to specify start dates and end dates for plan assignments. Need to move a rep from one plan to another at a specific date? Just enter the desired dates for each plan and Spiff will take care of the rest by automating all your calculations at the right time. Are you sure you still want to use Excel…?
Multi-level Commission Roll-Ups
These are very common in the commission world to reward managers or executives based on the performance of all the teams they manage. Whether your organization is two or an infinite number of levels deep, Spiff now lets you easily specify which teams a manager should receive credits from, even as those team members change throughout a period.
Support for Orders
Orders, Order Items, Pricebooks, and Pricebook Entries can now be pulled automatically from your CRM and used in your commission calculations. Isn’t it sweet?
Putting the ‘Fun’ In Functions
In addition to all these features, we’ve also added many backend features to make Spiff even more powerful as well as some smaller features and design enhancements.
